The degree at Southampton has opened my eyes to many interesting areas of business and management, and has reinforced my long-term interest in finance.

Having researched a whole range of universities I eventually chose to study accounting and finance at the Business School as I could see how much Southampton had to offer. The programme was challenging yet extremely rewarding and covered many topics in the areas of accounting, management and finance. The degree at Southampton has opened my eyes to many interesting areas of business and management, and has reinforced my long-term interest in finance. I graduated with a clear career path in mind, involving professional qualifications and becoming a chartered accountant in one of the big accountancy firms. The University’s careers advisory service was excellent and helped me in many ways, including securing an internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers. The skills and business acumen developed on the programme allowed me to follow my chosen career path as planned. I obtained a training contract with a big four accountancy firm and subsequently passed all my chartered accountancy examinations first time. Overall, providing you are committed, you will end up with a very valuable degree that will prepare you for a prosperous career in the world of business and finance.
