My University of Southampton experience has been amazing and full of various emotions. It has become a new chapter of my life and I am happy I made Southampton my prime choice of universities in UK. I will definitely recommend it as it allows a person to understand UK culture by just being a student of Southampton and also because Southampton diploma opens a world of opportunities.

Why did you choose to study at the University of Southampton

Top-rated UK University with fast growing Business School. Southampton as a city is great with rich community and students from both the University of Southampton and Southampton Solent University.

What were your first impressions of the University of Southampton?

As a person coming from a different country, Southampton and UK Universities as a whole were something I couldn’t even imagine before actually seeing first. That is why my first impression was an unexpected and positive satisfaction from being able to perceive the UK culture and assimilate in such a great community.

What do you enjoy the most about living in Southampton?

Being surrounded by people of the same age. I also enjoyed the parks and overall nice and tidy environment. Many places for going outs – pubs and clubs.

What is your favourite spot on campus?

The “secret” garden not many people know about – it is called The Valley Gardens I believe, behind the Jubilee and The Union buildings.

What has been your proudest accomplishment while you were in Southampton?

Became a Union Councillor and had a chance to participate at the student union events and discussions – express my opinion and thoughts about things at university. Learnt how to write course works, dissertation and all the papers in English language.

Would you recommend the University of Southampton to students from your home country?

I will definitely recommend it as it allows a person to understand UK culture by just being a student of Southampton and also because Southampton diploma opens a world of opportunities.

What will you do with your degree after you have finished your studies?

I am going to continue the marketing career I have chosen and start working for a media agency.

Do you have any stories about your time in Southampton or a happy memory you want to share?

University of Southampton allowed me to understand myself and the career path I want to take. I will always remember how one of my teachers were mentoring and preparing me for my industrial year placement.
