Why did you choose to come and study at Southampton?
Southampton offers wide range of management modules and have Maastricht programme which is attractive for me to gain knowledge about European business practices.
What were your Southampton ‘highlights’?
Having multinationals classmates. The MBA programme itself consists of students from more than ten nationalities, which was all amazing.
What other activities did you take advantage of while at University?
I love photography and joined the student digital ambassador. It helped me widen my network with other students outside the MBA and also the University staff. I had the chance in sharing my experience in Southampton and UK through my lens and posted in Instagram also students’ blog.
What did you enjoy most about your course?
Class discussion and presentation. I love doing both. Brainstorming with another students who have different working experience can be hard sometimes, but most of the time it was useful and interesting.
What have been the highlights of your career to date?
Southampton has been a highlight for my current career. Studying in the UK has landed me a job in one of key sectors in Indonesia. My experience at Southampton, studying a UK business case, understanding how UK expertise works, has helped me understand better about my current work.
How did your time at Southampton help you to grow as a person and help you get to where you are now?
Studying in Southampton helped me to widen my knowledge, being open to many new ideas. Southampton also taught me not to give up and fight for my goals, because the MBA is not easy.
What advice would you give to a student starting their degree at Southampton?
Know what you want is important, identify what you need to improve to get what you want is also important. Make your time in Southampton to develop your skill and knowledge, and have fun.
What tips would you give to current students looking to start a career in your sector?
Willingness to learn. Having postgraduate degree, master degree, does not mean we are mastering in everything. So keep learning.
