Senior managers from more than 25 of the region’s leading organisations are gaining fresh insights through Southampton Business School’s Executive Learning Partnership.
The Executive Learning Partnership is designed to upskill senior leaders and managers with the knowledge and training they need to succeed, through specialist masterclasses. We take a unique and holistic approach to executive education, working with leading organisations who understand the need to educate and train leaders – and potential leaders – to tackle key challenges.
Our members attend monthly masterclasses on topical issues, delivered by industry experts, master practitioners and specialist academics. The sessions cover a wide range of topics, from leadership, strategy and change management, right through to the impact of technology, sustainability and positive psychology in the workplace.
The Executive Learning Partnership blends academic rigour with practical applications that can make a real difference to your organisation. You will have the opportunity to contribute and learn from an extended community of senior managers keen to engage in and challenge current thinking and behaviour. Naturally, you will also be invited to key University of Southampton talks and seminars with access to our departments and opportunities to meet key staff and alumni.
Also, with partners including J.P.Morgan, Ordnance Survey and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, it’s a great opportunity to network with peers in the local area.
Every March, the Executive Learning Partnership holds a sparky leadership debate, which all members are invited to. A panel of top executives discuss contemporary issues in a ‘Question Time’ format; past speakers have included former Air Vice Marshal Mike Harwood, Deloitte Global Chairman Steve Almond and General Sir Richard Barrons.
We see the Executive Learning Partnership as a way to re-calibrate and re-focus on business. The topics are based on the latest research, they are fact-based and always relevant. We often send several people to each session so we can share the knowledge afterwards. The speakers are very interesting with varied approaches and styles of delivery. It is also good to sit next to managers from different companies and different drivers. We value our relationship with Southampton Business School.
As a CEO of a charity which is rapidly expanding, I am facing challenges on how to adapt the business for the future. ELP gives me access to experts who provide thought provoking lectures that enables me to challenge my plans and address gaps that I didn’t know I had. As a leader of an organisation, continuing personal development is key to taking the organisation forward and the ELP helps meet this need.
