Johnnie Johnson, Professor of Decision and Risk Analysis, has been elected Vice-President of the Asia Pacific Association for Gambling Studies (APAGS).

APAGS is a not-for-profit international academic network consisting of scholars, professionals, regulators, and policy makers focused on gambling research and the gaming business around the world.

APAGS promotes multi-disciplinary gambling studies through consultancy, scientific research and international conferences and published scholarly journals.

Johnnie, who is Director of the Centre for Risk Research at Southampton Business School, says: “It is a great honour to know that my research in the areas of decision making in speculative financial environments and betting markets has been recognised in this way. This position, and my continuing work on the Academic Committee of APAGS, is an excellent means of promoting further research in the exciting areas of risk taking and speculation, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.”
