Awards/Grants

Krishanthi (Krish) Vithana, Yehuda Baruch , and Collins Ntim have been made an award of £57,000 by the ESRC (Impact Acceleration Account), for the interdisciplinary project of “Investment case behind living wage accreditation.” As part of the project, Krish will undertake a secondment with the Global Responsible Investment Team of Aviva plc.

Special Achievements

Julia Bennell gave an invited one-hour keynote speech at the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS) Conference 2017, Quebec, Canada. IFORS is one of the main conferences in Operational Research. The title of the talk was “Get packing! Key concepts and future directions in cutting and packing problems”

Yehuda Baruch ’s paper “Transforming careers - from linear to multidirectional career paths: Organizational and individual perspective ” published in Career Development International was listed as one of the top 10 most downloaded articles for the journal last year.

Yehuda Baruch was acknowledged as Outstanding Reviewer by the Careers Division in the Academy of Management Conference.

Max Chipulu has been invited to guest edit a special issue on ‘competence modelling’ for Project Management Journal (ABS 1*, Impact Factor 4.034).

Fabian Homberg ’s paper “Top Management Team Diversity: A systematic review”, published in Group & Organization Management (ABS 3*) was listed as one of the top 10 most downloaded articles for the journal last year.

Professor Collins Ntim will be Guest Editing a Special Issue on “African Accounting and Development” with Dr Philippe Lassou, University of Guelph, Canada and Professor Trevor Hopper, University of Sussex, UK for the "Critical Perspectives on Accounting", (2017-2020).
