Strategy with a wide angled lens
Leadership and strategy advisor Jeff Callander challenged delegates at the latest Executive Learning Partnership day run by Southampton Business School to examine their strategy afresh, reviewing their goals, analysing their customers and competitors and looking to the future.
Agility is now all important, he says, and the shelf life of information is getting shorter and shorter: “Leaders should widen their strategy to identify disruptors such as ITunes and AirBnb and act quickly to meet their challenge. As Reed Hastings of Netflix said: ‘Companies rarely die from moving too fast’.”
Jeff has extensive experience in oil and gas exploration around the world and is currently studying for a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at the University of Southampton.
The Executive Learning Partnership brings together leading companies and organisations with experts from Southampton Business School in a connected learning community. Monthly masterclasses delivered by specialists focus on topical issues and partners decide each year which subjects should be covered. Partners can also access the Business School’s innovative Executive Development Programmes and tap into the University’s rich resources in research and enterprise.
