Visiting Professor Sri Kandiah recently received an MBE for Voluntary Services, on behalf of local charity One Community.

Sri attended the Queen’s Garden Party on 31 May, to celebrate the MBE award on behalf of One Community, where he has been the Chair of Trustees for the past 25 years.

“I feel very honoured and somewhat humbled by this award and I would like to say that this is a tribute to all the volunteers, staff and trustees of One Community, which this year is celebrating its 40th birthday.”

He was also fortunate to be chosen to converse with Her Majesty during the day.

One Community is an independent charity providing voluntary sector support and community development in Eastleigh and Fareham, Hampshire. As well as being the Chair of Trustees for the charity, Sri is also a Visiting Professor at Southampton Business School, teaching MBA and MSc students about change, HRM, leadership, culture and strategy.
