Other Special Achievements

Farooq Ahmad has had an article published in the newspaper. It’s a policy analysis of the healthcare reform in Pakistan and I advised the government of Pakistan for the smooth implementation of the reform. https://www.mashriqtv.pk/E-Paper/the-statesman/2018- 11-19/page-4

Dr Philip Alford has brought an Erasmus+ project to Southampton which he was leading at Bournemouth.

The project is entitled: "Professional SMEs in Tourism: Transnational Development of Skills Acquisition". Essentially it concerns the Digital Transformation of SMEs and measuring and enhancing their engagement with technology for marketing. The value of the time transferred is approximately £15K.

Yehuda Baruch was appointed to the Editorial Review Board of Journal of Vocational Behavior, a 4* journal.

Dr. Cristián Bravo has been named Turing Fellow by the Alan Turing Institute. Dr. Bravo will have access to the institute resources and support for project applications, PGR researchers, industry contacts, and access to a large network of researchers in topics of artificial intelligence.

Dr Pingli Li’s applications for the Global Visiting Fellowship 2018 was successful. The application nominated Dr Dai from Renmin University of China as a Visiting Fellow from 1 August 2018 to 31 July 2021, with a total research fellowship money £17,550.

Dr Tahir Nisar attended a #YESI Future Smart Cities workshop in Warsaw, Poland, 28-30 November. The workshop was organised by the Polish Government Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the British Council.

Dr Tahir Nisar and Professor Frank McGroarty have been granted an ESRC PhD studentship, valued at £66,000, in Quantitative Methods for the project titled "Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning in the Service Sector". As part of the project, they are allowed to recruit an international PhD student for a period of 3.5 years.

Stratos Ramoglou delivered a research seminar at Warwick Business School on the nature and limits of theory in management studies on the 13th November.
