European Foundation of Management Development (EFMD) is a membership driven global network of 30,000 management professionals from 954 business school in 92 countries, that aims to develop socially responsible leaders and managers. EFMD is recognised globally as an accreditation body for business schools, business school programmes universities.

Alongside an emphasis on educational standards for management education, EFMD firmly believe in bringing companies and academic institutions together and works towards facilitating and strengthening exchanges between the two.

During 2020 Southampton Business School, an EFMD member school, partnered with EFMD and Highered to enable students and alumni to connect with companies and organisations from around the globe, in a sophisticated job fair simulation environment that enables real-time interaction between recruiters and candidates.

Southampton Business school students and alumni participating in the spring and autumn virtual careers fairs have had an opportunity to apply for more than 10,000 global opportunities posted during the year, including internships, graduate programs and full-time positions.  Careers fairs hosted by sector e.g. consultancy, finance, marketing, etc cover three work locations – EMEA, Americas and Asia Pacific – uniquely enabling UK and international students to apply for roles in their home country. 499 students and alumni registered on the platform, 1873 positions were viewed and 22.9% were converted into applications with global organisations such as IBM, PepsiCo Europe, Mazars, IBM, Gartner and Mars China.
