The Centre for Digital Finance is delighted to invite you to the second Cryptocurrency Research Conference 2019, to be held in our Highfield campus on 15-16 June 2019.

This event will bring together an international group of academics conducting research in finance and related disciplines, as well as practitioners and policy makers to generate debates on current issues of cryptocurrencies and digital finance. This conference provides a forum for presenting new ideas, and discussing the future direction of cryptocurrency research.

Keynote Speakers:

Dr Garrick Hileman, Head of Research at Blockchain, co-founder of Mosaic, research associate at the London School of Economics.

Professor Brian Lucey, Professor of International Finance and Commodities at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, and Director of Research in Trinity Business School.

Dr Shaen Corbet, cryptocurrency expert, works as a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Dublin City University Business School, Ireland.

Publication Opportunities

Economics Letters will publish a Special (sub) volume shortly after the Cryptocurrency Research Conference 2019. A dual submission possibility (conference + Econ letters) is available to all conference submissions with the understanding that those papers will not be submitted to another journal before Economics Letters. The conference organisers will initially review the papers from dual submission path and those chosen papers would be automatically submitted to the Economics Letters journal immediately after the conference and, subject to referee review, published in a special volume.

Data-in-Brief will publish a Special issue shortly after the Cryptocurrency Research Conference 2019. Alongside with submission of your research paper to any academic journal, Data-in-Brief offers opportunity for researchers to easily share and reuse each other's datasets by publishing data articles in the Special Issue on Cryptocurrencies and Digital Finance. The data articles should clearly explain your data and methods used in constructing your dataset, as well as explaining its value and potential for reproducibility.

Additionally, in consultation with the Editor, authors of selected papers may be invited to submit their manuscripts to a regular issue of:

  • International Review of Financial Analysis
  • Finance Research Letters
  • Heliyon is pleased to accept submissions from attendees of the Cryptocurrency Research Conference 2019.  Heliyon is Elsevier’s broad scope open access journal, offering editorial excellence, fast publication, and high visibility.  Submissions by attendees of the Cryptocurrency Research Conference 2019 will be prioritized for peer review- please make note that you are an attendee of the conference in your cover letter during your article submission.

Paper Submission

Authors are invited to submit their papers in English and in PDF format no later than Thursday 28 February 2019 by email: crc@soton.ac.uk. Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed. No submission fee is required. For PhD students, please indicate your student status when submitting the paper. For dual submission to Economics Letters please use the title: “Dual Submission Conference + Econ Letters”.
