Organisational change is a problem for many organisations, with up to 70% of change initiatives failing to deliver and meet their goals. Effective leadership has been shown to make a difference and can result in sustainable change being embedded in the organisation. With an entertaining blend of metaphor, lessons from neuroscience and awareness of systemic principles, this lively session will introduce you to a structured way of thinking about your leadership of change and addressing the issues you are facing as you bring about organisational change in your organisation. You will gain practical insights and frameworks to address these issues, and you’ll leave with a clearer view of where and how to prioritise your leadership effort. An event not to be missed, this workshop is fuelled by some of the latest thinking in systemic approaches to organisational change.
Speaker information
Professor Malcolm Higgs, University of Southampton. Professor Malcolm Higgs is Professor of Human Resource Management and Organisation Behaviour within Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton. He was also Head of Southampton Business School from 2011-2014. Prior to his appointment at Southampton Business School, Malcolm was the Director of the School of Leadership, Change and HR and Research Director of Henley Management College. He has published over 100 academic journal papers on leadership, team development, executive assessment and change management. Malcolm is a member of the British Psychological Society and a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and is also actively involved in providing consulting services on leadership, change and assessment.
