My course was highly-interactive and group based learning so it was very enriching to hear the experiences of my classmates as we learned new theory on effective management and leadership.

Why did you choose to study your MBA at Southampton?

Southampton is an amazing city with great student vibes. There is a lot to do, a lot of beautiful historic places, pubs, yacht ports, stone beaches, etc. Also, it is very close and well connected with other major cities.

What did you enjoy most about your course?

My course was highly-interactive and group based learning so it was very enriching to hear the experiences of my classmates as we learned new theory on effective management and leadership. People I interacted with on the course have become my friends and I expect to keep hearing from them and when the pandemic is over, hopefully visit them in their respective countries.

What were your Southampton highlights/best experiences?

Living in student halls was a great experience to get to know people and feel the student life more closely. All the surroundings of Highfield, Bassett and Portswood are filled with a lot of student friendly vibes and you feel welcomed. There are hundreds of societies to choose from to increase your networks and learn new skills.

What other activities did you take advantage of while at University?

On the MBA course, they take you to field trips where you form teams and complete tasks to enhance your leadership skills. We also do two study trips where we visit different industries and learn from successful companies and leaders. There is a employability area that helps you to get a job when you finish your degree and I got the opportunity to start an internship a couple of days after my dissertation submission. Finally, there are all kinds of sports from hiking to sailing that you can do at Southampton that are amazing.

What are your ambitions now?

I aim to get a permanant job in the Winchester office of the company I'm at. I expect to work for other companies for 5-7 years and eventually build my own company.
