The Leadership Development Programme helped me to grow professionally and personally. The international trips gave me the chance to put into practice all the knowledge acquired during the course.

Why did you choose to come and study at Southampton?

I decided to study at the University of Southampton because of the reputation the institution has, ranked in the top 100 universities worldwide. Specifically, the MBA programme has accreditations (AMBA, AACSB, CMI) which are highly valued in the labour market.

The University has the ideal mixture of academic excellence and extracurricular activities, which makes the educational experience supreme.

What were your highlights at Southampton?

The University of Southampton gave me the opportunity to interact with people from different nationalities, backgrounds, cultures and languages, something that I found crucial to my learning experience.

What did you enjoy most about the Southampton MBA?

There were several aspects of the course that I really enjoyed. The Leadership Development Programme helped me to grow professionally and personally. The international trips gave me the chance to put into practice all the knowledge acquired during the course. And the final project gave me the opportunity to explore a topic that I am passionate about with the guidance of experts.

What have been the highlights of your career to date?

As part of the MBA programme, I had the opportunity to contribute to a consulting project in Brazil. The project aimed to help a start-up solve an issue that could determine its long-term sustainability. I had the chance to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the MBA programme in a real-life scenario, which broadened my horizons and helped me to be more prepared for future professional challenges.

The consultancy project was the most difficult project I have had during my professional career, however, at the same time it was the most rewarding and heart-warming. I had the opportunity to develop several leadership skills, such as emotional intelligence and cultural awareness, but most importantly I had the opportunity to positively transform a company’s future, which made all our effort worth it.

How did your time at Southampton help you to grow as a person and develop your career?

The University of Southampton experience helped me to grow professionally and personally, as it expanded my knowledge about different markets, industries and roles.

Moreover, the MBA helped me to develop transferable skills that are highly valued in the global and multicultural market we live in.

What advice would you offer to someone looking to study the Southampton MBA programme?

Make the most of your Southampton experience. The University offers many extracurricular activities, societies and events that you can be part of. These will make the difference to your learning path.
