I am enjoying the totally new experience I am getting through the course. I am also getting to know different cultures and work environments of different countries which I think is really amazing.

Why did you choose to study at Southampton?

As the world is becoming more and more digital and marketing is totally changing with a digital perspective, I wanted to study digital marketing so that I have a better understanding of the current market scenario. In the UK, Southampton is one of the top Universities for providing a digital marketing course.

What is it like studying here?

Studying here is really great. It's a totally new experience which I am really enjoying. I live at the Mayflower halls which I think are the best University halls as it is just 5 minutes walk from the city centre and a 15 min bus ride to the University. Also, Highfield campus is really beautiful, especially the library which is like my second home during exams.

What are you enjoying most about your course?

I am enjoying the totally new experience I am getting through the course. There are a lot of international students on my course, so it's really great to hear different opinions in the class. I am also getting to know different cultures and work environments of different countries which I think is really amazing.

Have you taken advantage of any extra opportunities outside of your course?

Yes, I have. I am currently the Course Representative. I am also the Online Manager of Wessex Scene and the Open Place member of the Education Zone.

What have been your Southampton highlights so far?

My best highlights are getting selected for Excel Southampton Internships and the Business Innovation Programme. I have written articles for the Wessex Scene, for the online website as well as their print issue.

How has your time at Southampton helped you to grown as a person?

It has helped me to grow into a more independent and confident person. I have to do and manage everything by myself, and the University has made that very comfortable for me.

How do you rate study facilities at the University?

The study facilities are great, especially the library and the online access to a lot of research material. Access to Lynda by the University has also been of great help as it has helped me to learn a lot of different software.

What the city of Southampton like to live in?

The city is very beautiful and peaceful. Southampton port is just a 15 minute walk from the city centre which is a perfect spot to see the sunset. London is just 1.5 hours away from Southampton.

What are your plans and/or ambitions after you graduate?

I want to work in the media and entertainment industry, and I am looking forward to applying for jobs in those industries.

What advice would you give to a student starting their degree at Southampton?

I would like to advise students to come to Southampton without any worries because the University, staff and Union will make you feel very comfortable. They are really helpful and you will experience a great time in the UK.
