My Southampton highlight is without a doubt the people I met. I have made some friends here that are now family.

Why did you choose to study at Southampton?

I chose Southampton as it offered a masters that had exactly the characteristics I was looking for; a perfect blend of analytics and finance. The University is also ranked in the top 100 of universities globally and is a pioneer in research.

What is it like studying here?

The system is unique in a way that your courses give you all the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge followed by real business cases that are conducted through assignments which then culminate in a potential final examination. I enjoy this process as it gives you enough time to first acclimate yourself with the subject and test your knowledge, thus making the learning experience richer.

What are you enjoying most about your course?

The MSc in Business Analytics and Finance is a perfect blend of theory and practice; giving you both the necessary theoretical knowledge while providing you with the hands-on practice of real-like business scenarios.

Have you taken advantage of any extra opportunities outside of your course?

I joined the Business Innovation Programme in which you will be part of a team of students from different backgrounds and majors working together as consultants on a real business issue for a company in the UK. This experience is truly unique as you do frequently meet with the client and get a glimpse of the professional world.

What have been your Southampton highlights so far?

My Southampton highlight is without a doubt the people I met. I have made some friends here that are now family.

How has your time at Southampton helped you to grow as a person?

My time at Southampton made me appreciate how different we all are and how we can derive strength from it. I met and worked with some wonderful people from all around the world which made me grow both on a person and professional level.

How do you rate the study facilities at the University?

The University of Southampton has a wide range of facilities, such as its iconic Hartley Library, that are extremely well equipped and furnished to provide the essential support for students throughout their journey.

What is the city of Southampton like to live in?

The city of Southampton is comparable to a shy colleague you just met. Once you get to know each other, you will discover how vibrant and full of life it is.

What are your plans and/or ambitions after you graduate?

My plan after I graduate is to pursue a career in consultancy and financial services.

What advice would you give to a student starting their degree at Southampton?

My advice is to come with an open mind ready for new experiences. Join clubs that you are interested in, utilise the University's support services but do not forget to have fun - you are embarking on a new journey!
