I chose to study at Southampton because of its masters programme tailored to international financial markets instead of just general finance as well as it's easy access to mainland Europe.

Why did you choose to come and study at Southampton?

I chose to study at Southampton because of its masters programme tailored to international financial markets instead of just general finance as well as it's easy access to mainland Europe. I was also impressed with the affordable cost of the programme compared to others as well as the cost of living in Southampton compared to London.

What is it like studying here?

The courses and the programme are very hands on and everything is done by hand i.e. not with financial software or financial calculators like I had experienced previously. This may be a good thing to some or a step back for others. The atmosphere around campus has a very small feeling and is very quiet and quaint.

What are you enjoying most about your course?

You get exposure to lecturers of varying backgrounds and nationalities which have different experiences and teaching styles to offer.

What have been your Southampton highlights?

The highlight of studying at Southampton has been meeting people from different countries around the world and making lifelong friends with some of them.

How has your time at Southampton helped you to grow as a person?

My knowledge in bonds and fixed income has increased which will help to carry over into career path. I have grown as a person by becoming more cultured and having much more exposure to the international community being an international student.

How do you rate University's study facilities?

The facilities and University grounds are very personable and small which make for a good environment to learn and study.

What is the city of Southampton like to live in?

The city of Southampton has nearly everything you need for a successful student career but the best part is its airport which has easy access to the rest of the UK and Europe, as well as its bus and train system that have easy access to London anytime you wish.

What are your plans and/or ambitions after you graduate?

I will be moving to Los Angeles, California to work in finance. I will be working in private wealth and portfolio management for high net worth individuals and business owners.
