The course has shown me how to view and think of issues from a broader and more strategic horizon, which is what I value the most of this year academically.

Southampton has great geographical advantages such as a harbour and it's close to London. The high reputation enjoyed by the University and Business School were my first thoughts when choosing where to study my course. I was also attracted by the course design which combines risk management and finance. This helps me develop my mind-set of business learning.

I've made lots of friends from other cultures, and the helpful professors who always give useful advice and feedback have been a particular highlight. Presentations given by invited external experts showed us better views of practice in our academic fields and possible future career paths.

There are several career fairs and employers’ talks each semester. As they present available positions and sometimes their own career paths, we have gained more knowledge of how we can move forward and where we may target our future career.

Coursework feedback from our professors is always useful and suggests improvements we should make to better understand the modules and to improve future coursework. The course has shown me how to view and think of issues from a broader and more strategic horizon, which is what I value the most from this year.

I want to work for banks or other financial institutions, though haven’t got a clear idea. Yes, apart from the opportunities of being a digi-champ and of participating in professional talks, the dissertation also helps me have a clearer idea of my career.
