Takron is a PhD researcher within the Department of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Southampton Business School. His research revolves around determinants of university-industry collaboration (UIC), firm’s innovation capabilities, and appropriability strategy.

Research interests

His research contributes to debate on the determinants of university-industry collaboration (UIC) and innovation performance. His first research topic aims to widen the knowledge body of capabilities in UIC literature which largely relies on technology-related capabilities, by exploring the roles of non-technological innovation capabilities (organisational and marketing) in enhancing firm innovation performance. His second research interest lies in the paradox of openness in university-industry collaboration, i.e. a trade-off between sharing and protecting their knowledge. He is interested in how firm’s appropriability strategy influences the collaboration breadth and the propensity to collaborate with universities.
