Is your organisation facing a particular commercial challenge? Student Innovation Projects enables businesses and not-for-profit organisations to present ambitious students with a commercial challenge and receive inspiring solutions to overcome it.
Students from a range of subjects and year groups will work in teams to come up with innovative solutions to your organisation's problem.
We ensure that all students are trained prior to projects commencing.
Projects can be completed entirely virtually but if restrictions allow and there is agreement from all project participants, there is scope for in-person activity.
We would like to thank the students again- they provided strong insights and valuable feedback in a professional and impressive manner.
Becoming a client of our Student Innovation Projects brings several benefits including:
In order to participate in our Student Innovation Projects, you will need to submit a Client Form to the Employer Engagement Team for approval. Please contact us at employ@southampton.ac.uk if you would like a Client Form.
The Client Form will state your commercial challenge and needs to be detailed, as this document will ultimately be provided to the students.
Each team of students will then have four weeks to consider the commercial challenge and propose solutions to the issue. They are then required to produce a written report and present their proposal to you and a member of Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise.
Once the project begins, your involvement will be as follows:
