Karl Anton - Career Practitioner for Audiology

Deciding what you would like to do after you graduate can sometimes seem like a daunting prospect. We work with academic staff and employers to provide a tailored service to help you explore your options and find out more about the various career paths you could take.

Each faculty has a linked Career Practitioner who works closely with staff and students to provide tailored events and information.

All of our practitioners and advisers are able to offer you careers information and advice through our Drop-in Service and workshops. During Drop-in you will see the duty adviser. If you are then referred to a longer 30 minute guidance appointment, you can request to see your subject's Career Practitioner.

Take a look below at some resources we have put together to get you started.

What could you do with your degree?

Audiology students at the University of Southampton benefit from an employability programme of careers support and NHS and private sector employer talks to help inform career choices. You also have access to the Health Science Careers Fair and Employability Week talks and workshops. Take a look below for some further sources of support and information:

You should consider joining accrediting and professional bodies in the field to take full advantage of the benefits whilst studying:

The British Academy of Audiology (BAA)
The British Society of Audiology (BSA)
Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS)
Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (voluntary professional register for audiologists)
The Health and Care Professions Council (the regulating body for Clinical Scientists in Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers)

What do our Audiology graduates do?

Graduate Outcomes Survey

If you are trying to decide what to do after University, you might find it helpful to look at what our graduates have done with their degree.

Fifteen months after completing a course of study at the University of Southampton, our graduates are contacted to find out where their journeys have taken them. This information is gathered through the Graduate Outcomes survey (previously the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey) which applies to all leavers from August 2017 onwards.

See the data sheet below for an insight into what other Audiology graduates have done.
