Centre for Banking, Finance and Sustainable Development

Focusing on the link between the financial sector and economic growth

The Centre for Banking, Finance and Sustainable Development focuses on the link between the financial sector, and here in particular the banking system, and economic growth and development. The latter is interpreted in the broadest possible way, including and increasingly focusing on the sustainability aspect of both banking and development.

Overview and key objectives of the Centre

The Centre operates in an interdisciplinary fashion. Members hail not only from the Finance Group at the Southampton Business School, but also the Economics Division in the School of Social Sciences, and it is open to any other discipline.
