Peter Hoare and Anne Willis from the University of Newcastle aim to answer all these questions using an interactive powerpoint presentation with student voting handsets mixed with practical chemical demonstrations (with some audience participation!). Those 6 and over are probably best placed to get the most out of the lecture, but there’s plenty in the talk for eager younger minds and all are welcome!’
An interactive Public Lecture, aimed at families, to show that Chemistry impacts on every aspect of our daily lives – even when we go shopping! This inspirational lecture will answer numerous key questions, including:
- How is Chemistry involved in the contents of your shopping basket?
- Which chemicals are they?
- Why are they used?
- What can we do with them?
- What IS a “Chemist”?
- What careers can chemists go into?
This lecture presentation aims to answer all these questions using an interactive PowerPoint presentation with student voting handsets mixed with practical chemical demonstrations (with some audience participation!).
