Event details

The first of the monthly Spin Dynamics Group Seminar will be presented by David Goodwin

This informal seminar will show progress made by the Kuprov group in the promising area of optimal control. We show efficient methods for evaluating chained exponential integrals that appear in relaxation theories, average Hamiltonian theory, and the derivatives of optimal control theory. Then continuing with optimal control of spin systems, a quadratically converging algorithm is presented - with the same complexity scaling as the previous best, super-linearly converging algorithms. The seminar will close with current research designed to solve problems of implementing optimal control pulses on systems of electron spin resonance - where hardware constraints distort these precise pulses on route to the sample.
