Dr Ann Bingham is a Senior Teaching Fellow (Academic Practice) at the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) at the University of Southampton.

With a background in the physical sciences, Ann obtained her PhD from the University of Southampton in 2002. Teaching on a range of courses at a variety of institutions, Ann’s roles encompassed leadership, mentoring, and staff development before moving into academic development.

With a passion for life-long learning, Ann continues to maintain her record of continuing professional development and as part of her role in CHEP Ann has developed a CPD programme for academic staff mapping each activity to UKPSF dimensions.

Ann’s professional interests encompass, Innovative curriculum design, Assessment and Feedback, the international student experience and cultural differences in HE, and Personal Academic Tutoring. She is a Fellow of the HEA, a member of NACADA and ALDinHE and a founding member of UKAT where she holds the position of Vice-Chair (Community Engagement).
