Evaluating and Developing Learning and Teaching

Target Audience: Those who wish to actively grow their teaching skills and wish to use evaluation as a developmental tool. The workshop will also be very useful for teachers wishing to build a teaching portfolio to evidence their practice.

Brief Outline: Evaluation of learning and teaching has often been seen as a judgemental activity that the teacher can pass or fail. It has been frequently seen as a tool for assuring teaching quality and ensuring teaching competency. This workshop aims to put the ‘power’ back in the hands of the teacher and help shift the focus from being ‘evaluation is something that is out of my control and done to me’, to one of ‘evaluation is a tool I can use to develop my learning and teaching, and focus on the issues that interest me’
