University of Southampton Mentoring

Mentoring

University of Southampton Mentoring is currently under review with a view to relaunching in 2018. This is due to a restructuring of staff and structures in the institution.  Janice Griffiths as Director of the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) and Sarah Marshall as Head of Leadership and Management Development are organising a number of consultative meetings to determine the needs of individuals involved in the programme.

If you would like to be involved in these meetings, please contact J.B.Griffiths@soton.ac.uk or S.L.Marshall@soton.ac.uk. We are currently unable to accept any new registrations.

The University remains committed to supporting mentoring and, in collaboration with associates across the University, is transforming the approach to staff learning and development and creating a community and culture of learning in which continuous professional development is prioritised for all. The University's mentoring schemes contributes to this culture by seeking to enable individuals to reach their potential by linking them to the support of an experienced colleague.

With trained mentors, providing support in teaching and learning, research, enterprise, leadership and management, wellbeing, worklife balance and personal effectiveness, all staff are welcome to join the University scheme. Faculty based schemes also operate in Medicine and Health Sciences.
