British Psycho-Oncology Society (BPOS) Annual Conference
Members from the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group (MSRG) presented their work at this year’s BPOS Annual Conference, 16 - 17 March 2017 in Oxford, UK. The theme of the conference was “Living with and beyond cancer: opportunities in a changing landscape”. Professor Claire Foster, Director of MSRG, also attended and chaired a session of oral presentations.

Dr Amanda Cummings delivered an oral presentation “The impact of co-morbidities on quality of life, symptoms and functioning in the first two years following colorectal cancer surgery”; these finding were from the ColoREctal Wellbeing (CREW) cohort study funded by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Dr Joshua Turner presented a poster “HORIZONS – a new study to explore the short, medium and long term consequences of a cancer diagnosis and cancer treatment”; the poster described the background and aims to the HORIZONS research programme, also funded by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Dr Sophia Taylor also presented a poster “Establishing a prospective cohort of lung cancer patients to investigate recovery after curative intent radiotherapy- a feasibility study”; this poster reported the findings from the Lung Cancer Radiotherapy Feasibility Study funded by Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
These studies all form part of the research programme at the MSRG of which Professor Claire Foster is Chief Investigator.
