Language courses at Avenue Campus
The Confucius Institute provides tailor made short courses for those who intend to improve their Chinese language proficiency. The courses will help the learner in acquiring or improving their skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translating of Mandarin Chinese. HSK courses from Level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6: Vocabulary and grammar points for each level will be learned matching the HSK curriculum.
Learning and teaching contents for various purposes and tests are available at all levels, from beginners to advanced, such as preparing for 1-6 HSK (Mandarin Proficiency Tests), HSKK (HSK Speaking Test) and YCT (Youth Chinese Test). Vocabulary and grammar points for each level will be learned matching the HSK curriculum. Skills for listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Tailor made tutorials from HSK1 to HSK6 will be provided at Avenue Campus, University of Southampton, in one to one or group format according to the demand.
The starting dates and duration of the courses are flexible and learning plans will be discussed with the participants to suit individual levels. Tutors and course materials are provided by the Confucius Institute.

Culture
We organise events and workshops, such as the Diabolo Show in Southampton Guildhall Square, and workshops on how to make paper dumplings and lanterns.
