Somerset Chinese Teaching Program Progressing Successfully

On the Morning of October 5th, Crispin School’s 200 8th grade students were in for a surprise. An introductory Chinese class had been set up during the morning assembly. Volunteer teacher Min CHEN, from Confucius Institute at the University of Southamtpon, in a short 10-minute period directed a lively question & answer session to help the students understand aspects of the Chinese language & culture. Crispin is one of 15 schools in the Somerset area offering Chinese culture and language classes. The enthusiasm which Min CHEN encountered in Crispin Middle School, is some evidence of the success of Somerset’s Chinese Teaching Programme in the past few years.
