CHEN Min has successfully completed her 2-year work placement at the Confucius Institute, University of Southampton

Min Chen is a postgraduate student from Xiamen University, majoring in teaching Chinese as a second language. Min joined Confucius Institute of the University of Southampton as a volunteer teacher in September 2015.

She delivered Mandarin lessons in twelve different schools in Somerset, including two infant schools, six primary schools, three secondary schools and one college. A major part of her responsibilities is to organize and conduct Chinese culture workshops and activities for schools both in Somerset and Southampton.

In the past two years, she has become an irreplaceable teacher because of her excellent teaching skills. Her loving personality and her enthusiasm for teaching has gained her a lot of respect and love from Mandarin learners. In the classroom, she always uses divers teaching methods, including media, role-playing, guest speakers and gaming.

After leaving CI, she will continue her postgraduate study in Xiamen University. Although it is truly sad to see her leave, we wish her all the best.
