Xue CHENG successfully completed 1- year work placement at Confucius Institute, University of Southampton

Xue completed her Master of World Economics in Xiamen University, China. Following the completion of her Master Degree, Xue joined the Confucius Institute (CI), University of Southampton in September 2016.

As a Chinese Mandarin teacher assistant, she worked in Bohunt School Confucius Classroom, which belongs to CI, University of Southampton. Her main role in Bohunt School Confucius Classroom included:

Giving post-class Chinese writing and speaking lesson towards Year7,

Organizing Chinese afterschool club activities,  

Helping organize Year7 Chinese Speech and poetry competition,

Organizing Year7 Chinese immersion class with the show house performance,

Organizing Chinese New Year events,

Helping with Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 Parents night,

Participating in School Opening Evening, introducing Chinese cultural section to parents,

Teaching Chinese cultural lesson in Crookhorn College, Westbourne Primary School representing Bohunt School.

Besides working in Bohunt School Confucius Classroom, she also played an important role in supporting CI in the delivery of events showcasing aspects of Chinese culture.
