Chinese New Year Events Held at Schools in Somerset

From 1st to 5th February 2018, schools running Chinese language courses sponsored by the Confucius Institute at the University of Southampton held a number of cultural events to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Around 160 students and teachers from six schools participated in the events, including Hindhay Infant School, Catcott Primary School, Strode College, etc. 

The events, such as the introduction to the tradition of the Chinese New Year, Spring Festival song singing and red paper cutting, not only helped the students gaining new knowledge of Chinese traditions, but also stimulated their enthusiasm for learning the Chinese language.
