Confucius Classroom at Mansbridge Celebrate Chinese New Year

From 19th February to 7th March 2018, the Confucius Classroom at Mansbridge Primary School, sponsored by the Confucius Institute at the University of Southampton, organised a series of activities to celebrate the Chinese New Year as part of their language and culture course.

Having learned about the Chinese New Year and the Zodiac, pupils in Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 produced some handmade art works, including personalised 3D dogs to celebrate the Year of Dog, under the guidance of their Chinese teacher. Art Club students used their six weeks’ lunch club time to create a handmade Chinese dragon. In addition, the school specially arranged a Chinese taster course for pupils in Key Stage 1 who are soon to sign up for the Chinese language course.
