LIAO YU successfully completed four- year work placement at Confucius Institute, University of Southampton

Yu obtained his Master of Education in Teaching Practice and Innovation in 2013 from the University of Southampton. He then joined the Confucius Institute as a Hanban Teacher in the year of 2014.

From 2014 to 2017, the majority of his responsibility is to deliver Mandarin courses to 15 schools in the Project Somerset. As one of the two main tutors, he has been working with a wide variety of schools and colleges all over Somerset. His area of work covers GCSE Chinese, HSK for adults and Chinese for beginners and cultural workshops.

In his last year with CI, he was assigned to work in the University of Southampton. He helped delivery Mandarin to university students as well as the public.

After four years of work, Yu has become one of the most experienced teachers in CI. Although it is truly a shame to see him leave, we wish him all the best in his new job.
