Anglo-Chinese Maritime Law & Practice in Transition IV Event

On 6 June 2019, more than 40 experts and scholars from China, Singapore and UK participated in the “Anglo-Chinese Maritime Law & Practice in Transition IV” event, which was held by the Southampton Law School and the Confucius Institute at the University of Southampton.

This event focused on the current trends in maritime law and its implementation in China and the United Kingdom and bridging the gap between Chinese Law and English Law.

During the two-day meeting,Professor Beiping Chu (Dalian Maritime University) gave a talked on “Development in the Amendments to Maritime Code of China”, Richard Lord QC (Brick Court Chambers) presented on “Conflict, Confusion, Congenbill, and Confucius – Why Change?” and 14 more experts and scholars from different universities and institutions provided presentations and discussions on Anglo-Chinese legal issues.
