Tai Chi Fan Club
This is the second consecutive year for the Confucius Institute to run the free Tai Chi Fan Club. Every Wednesday evening from 7th August to 11th September this year, Dr Ng, an experienced Tai Chi master, teaches lessons at the Southampton Common. Tai chi combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. Originally developed as a martial art in 13th-century China, Tai Chi is now practiced around the world as a health-promoting exercise. The participants, many are university staff, have enjoyed the practice of Tai Chi with fan movements to benefit the health. All are welcome and you just need to turn up at the time with sportswear.
