From 10th February to 1st March 2021, The Confucius Institute (CI) held its first Chinese quiz and artwork competition. There were about 150 people from CI and Confucius Classrooms took part in this online event.

The first part was online quiz. People love quiz!!! The quiz received an enthusiastic reaction and different contents about Chinese New Year were covered, like: how many animals are there in a cycle of the Chinese zodiac? How do you say “Happy New Year” in Mandarin? Who is Nian in the legend of Chinese New Year? 118 people joined the online quiz and 18 of them got a full mark, 100 out of 100. Congratulations!

The second part of the event was Chinese culture-related artwork competition. Different and various entry works were submitted, all the painting works were beautifully finished and well reflected Chinese elements, red colour, dragon, fish, Tai Ji and so on.

Winners were rewarded with prizes in the end of the event. One of the winners said he learnt a lot about Chinese culture and can’t wait to join the next event like this.
