On 10th July 2021, the first “Chinese Bridge” Chinese show competition for primary schools in the UK (United Kingdom) took place online. 254 pupils from 23 schools took part in a preliminary contest and Mansbridge Primary School encouraged three groups to take part.

The year two group, “Zebras”, made it into the finals with their song performance of ‘Two tigers’.

At the school, teachers worked hard to organise consent forms and video-filming. This is the first time Mansbridge Primary School has taken part in a national Chinese competition.

The Confucius Classroom at Mansbridge Primary School was launched in 2015. Children from year 2 to year 6 learn Chinese for one hour per week.

The Year 2 group that made into final this year is the youngest group and had learned Chinese for no more than 30 hours.

It has been a great learning experience for them to participate a national Chinese contest.
