Language and Culture Experience Day in Stroud School

On 9th November 2021, the Confucius Institute (CI) at the University of Southampton held a Chinese language and cultural experience event for more than 200 Y3 to Y8 students at Stroud School.

 

Southampton CI prepared 7 interactive workshops for this activity, including calligraphy, paper cutting, Chinese painting, clay games, shuttlecock kicking, Tang costume fitting and chopsticks games. The activity went on from 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. Students were actively involved in every workshop. This event is the first offline cultural activity held by CI since the outbreak of COVID-19. The diverse content of the activity not only gave students a preliminary understanding and experience of Chinese culture, but also inspired their enthusiasm to learn the Chinese language.
