CI Teachers Attend the Fifth Special training for local Chinese teachers in European English-speaking areas and present report

From 21st October to 23rd October, 2022, the Fifth Special training for local Chinese teachers in European English-speaking areas was held in London. This special training focused on the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education, invited many specialists and first front teachers to present report and share experience

Dr Ying Zheng, Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Southampton, gave a lecture entitled Discussing the alignment approaches of localization of Standard from the view of  methodology : Some observations and suggestions. Dr Zheng Ying, combined with her scientific research background of language testing research, analysed the HSK test paper structure and test content, and put forward the new requirements for the HSK test under the new framework of Standards. Afterwards, Ms. Zheng Ying talked about her own thoughts and suggestions on the alignment approaches of language tests and language standards. At the end of the lecture, Ms. Zheng Ying hoped that Chinese teachers in the UK could find their own research interests and research directions in their spare time, and further their career growth and personal development.

The local Chinese teacher of Bohunt School Liphook (The Confucius Classroom of CI) also participated in this workshop and shared experience. Gong Rong, CI’s Mandarin teacher, and Zhang Fengru, CI’s volunteer teacher, also participated online.

This training and workshop is a good chance for our teacher to share experience and learn from other colleague. In the future, the Confucius Institute will continue going further on teaching and research work of international Chinese education, contributing to international Chinese education.
