The 2023 Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute

On 14th February 2023, the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Southampton was held at the university Highfield Campus. The UK based members of the Board attended the meeting – Professor Jane Falkingham, the chairperson of the Board and the Vice-President International and Engagement, Professor Sarah Pearce, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr Ying Zheng, UK Director of the CI and Professor Ruoling Zheng, Chinese Director of the CI, Professor Andrew Atherton, Vice-President International, audited the meeting.

The meeting discussed the main difficulties that CI is currently facing and the possible solutions. It also discussed how to strengthen the academic cooperation and personnel exchanges between the University of Southampton and the partner university Xiamen University in 2023.
