Chinese New Year Gala 2012 Event

To celebrate the year of the Dragon we have invited  Weinan University Art Troupe to join us in Winchester to present our Chinese New Year Gala 2012.

Twenty talented performers from Weinan in north western China will come to showcase the dazzling talents which have seen them win awards at both provincial and national levels in mainland China.

Performances include traditional and modern Chinese music, song and dance, Peking opera, Chinese martial arts, calligraphy, and musical instrument pieces.   A magical performance promising fun for all the family!

The Gala is the first major event organised by the Confucius Institute (CI) since its official opening in October 2011. Chinese New Year provides the perfect opportunity to launch our effort to promote the understanding of China through language and culture and build a network of Chinese language learners in Hampshire.
