The University of Southampton Confucius Institute will host its second Chinese New Year Gala.

In 2013 we look forward to welcoming the Year of the Snake. This year we invite you to join us at the Turner Sims concert hall to enjoy entertainment from local and international Chinese performance artists.

You can expect graceful folk dances in dazzling Chinese dress, traditional folk songs, martial arts demonstrations, traditional Chinese musical instrumentals and the colourful display of a lion dance.

We welcome 8 professional performers from the Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine (CITCM) in London, on their annual New Year tour. There will also be exciting performances from the University of Southampton Chinese Student Scholar Association and Chinese Arts Southampton.
