A day of Chinese language, cultural workshops and performance art, including music, folk dancing, calligraphy, paper-cutting and Taichi. Starting with a traditional Chinese Lino Dance and performance at 10.00am.
On 27 September 2014 between 10.00 and 14.00, the Confucius Institute at the University of Southampton will host a whole day event featuring Mandarin Chinese Language Tasters and a variety of performances and workshops showcasing aspects of Chinese culture. You will be able to appreciate a Chinese lion dance, Chinese dynastic costume display, a Chinese instrument ensemble as well as folk dances and material arts. Chinese workshop session will include a choice of calligraphy, Thaichi, Opera mask painting, paper cutting, traditional games, dances and music.
