---- Art Performance for the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Confucius Institute and Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival is the second most important festival in the Chinese calendar and falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month when the moon is full. It is also known as the “Moon Festival” and is a time when Chinese people gather together, think of absent friends and family, drink tea and eat moon cakes.
This year is also the 10th Anniversary of establishment of the global Confucius Institute project. To celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Confucius Institute project, we have invited a performance troupe from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts (NACTA) in China for our evening celebration. Performances will include Peking Opera, Martial Arts, traditional Chinese music, and Chinese face changing.
The National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts was founded in 1950. It is the highest institution of Chinese Opera education, playing an important role to develop opera talents and inherit Chinese traditional culture.
