The CNY 2020 Year of the Rat Celebrations also marks the second year in which the City of Southampton has banded together to celebrate the Southampton community. Once again, Southampton City Council and many other Southampton based community groups, education bodies, and businesses, are coming together to bring these celebrations for the benefit, and enjoyment of the Southampton community. UNITING THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON
Southampton City’s 2019 CNY Year of the Pig Celebrations exposed millions of people to its activities. The UK Shaolin Temple returns once again to host Chinese New Year 2020 Year of the Rat Celebrations in collaboration with Southampton City Council. Alongside our partners, and collaborators, we will be out in full force this Chinese New Year to see in the Year of the Metal Rat with an array of celebrations taking place over two days: Saturday 25th January 2020 and Saturday 8th February 2020. The celebrations programme sees both well-known and new attractions, performances, and activities that will unite the City of Southampton and celebrate this beloved cultural festival. The line-up includes:
