2 CLC papers accepted for presentation at Chaire Quetelet 2013
Dr Jakub Bijak and Dr Eric Silverman have had 2 papers accepted for presentation at the Chaire Queteley Seminar which is being held at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium on 12-15 November.
The focus of the seminar is on changes in the field of demography over the past 50 years and looking ahead to the next 50 years. "Are the four Baconian idols still alive in demography?" is the title of the first paper which looks into the philosophical challenges of contemporary demography, and the second paper is entitled "Quantifying paradigm change in demography". Both papers are coauthored by Daniel Courgeau and Robert Franck.
