Researcher AwayDay and Networking event - To celebrate the launch of the new Clean Carbon University Strategic research Group

The audience enjoyed a wide range of research presentations
USRG's Networking AwayDay success

To celebrate the launch of the new Clean Carbon University Strategic research Group, we held a Researcher AwayDay and Networking event, including lunch and all refreshments, at Carey's Manor Hotel, Brockenhurst on Wednesday 13 May 2015. The event was free.

Researchers were invited to present their research in a 'speed dating' format with 5 minutes and up to 3 slides to tell the audience what their research is about and how it contributes to achieving a Low Carbon world. There were prizes for outstanding presentations; one for the ECR category and one for the Postgraduate category. The judging panel had its work cut out because there were so many excellent presentations. They ended up awarding three prizes rather than two as planned. The winners, who each received a £50 Amazon token, were:

Postgraduate category: William Webb and Viktor Weber
ECR category: Nicola Symonds
