AHRC Early Career Fellowship award for Marianne O'Doherty

Marianne O'Doherty (English) has been awarded an Arts and Humanities Research Council Early Career Fellowship to work on her monograph, The Indies and the Medieval West: Thought, Report, Imagination. The monograph, due to be published by Brepols in 2012, will examine medieval western european contacts with and representations of the Indian Ocean region c. 1250-1500. This new project complements the Southampton-based AHRC-funded project The Indian Ocean: Narratives in Literature and Law . The Fellowship will run from January - June 2011.
